The European Journal of Surgical Oncology, as well as European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) and British Association of Surgical Oncology (BASO) are staunch supporters of diversity in science, research and medicine, and are promoters of inclusion. The journal offers an inclusive and supportive publishing environment and we stand against all forms of discrimination, bullying and harassment.
The journal and societies have pledged to improve diversity & inclusion in the journals. In 2021 we have recognised several sections of the journal (Associate Editors and Editorial Advisory Board) which are underrepresented by females, which are:
