Multimodality image fusion method for guiding minimally invasive surgery in prostate cancer

      Background: Prostate cancer is commonest cancer in men. Surgical approach (Radical Prostatectomy) remains mainstay of treatment for localized disease. Achieving negative surgical margins and preservation of nerves for maintenance of potency are major challenges. The purpose of this study was to develop an image fusion system for guiding surgeons to optimize outcome of surgery.
